Annie "The Crook" Lindqvist - Messenger
Limited Edition of 250 illuminated Autumn Equinox ghosts. (Joins Midsummer Jack Summer Solstice ghost)
Tall, striking, and unnaturally composed, Annie Lindqvist arrived in Cambridge two years after her father was torn apart by what King's Lynn authorities euphemistically called a "wolf." She dressed entirely in yellow silk that seemed to glow in Cambridge's grey streets, and carried her father's shepherd's crook as both walking stick and symbol of authority. More unsettling still were her border collies - impossibly well-trained beasts that moved with near-supernatural coordination and seemed to understand not just her words but her thoughts. Some whispered that neither Annie nor her dogs appeared to have aged a day during her mysterious absence, though such talk was quickly hushed when those pale Nordic eyes fixed on the speaker.
Her Swedish sailor father had stayed in East Anglia after falling in love with her mother. But, rather than follow the family tradition of shepherding, Annie recognized that Cambridge's growing complexity created opportunities for someone who understood both discretion and speed. Her dogs became the most reliable - and most discreet - courier service in the region, carrying everything from love letters to legal documents, from small silver flasks of smuggled French brandy to leather pouches of untaxed tobacco. The collies moved with ghostly stealth through lanes and across fields, their black and white forms barely glimpsed before disappearing into hedgerows with their precious cargo strapped beneath their bellies. Annie's rates were fair for legitimate correspondence, but she charged premium prices for items that customs officials would find interesting - and her ledger, kept entirely in her formidable memory, contained enough secrets about Cambridge's underground economy to influence half the county.
Together with Millicent Fairweather, Annie formed one half of Cambridge's unofficial power structure - the network you had to navigate to get anything truly important accomplished. While Millicent controlled the shadows and the Night Watch, Annie controlled the flow of information and contraband across the broader landscape. Her father's crook became her symbol of authority, and those distinctive border collies were so well-known that simply glimpsing one loping through Cambridge streets meant important business was moving under cover of apparent innocence. The ceramic ghost's light yellow captures both her signature clothing and the golden harvest light of the season she represented, while the white streaks reflect her Nordic heritage and the flash of her dogs' markings as they carried Cambridge's secrets and forbidden goods across the autumn fields.

She is perfect! I love her color and details, the base is a wonderful addition!
You’ve outdone yourself with this ghost. I love the new light up base that changes colors and am thankful for the extra base for my previously purchased ghost. I would absolutely purchase more ghosts in the future.
I have purchased both York and Cambridge ghosts. They are both brilliant, but only the Cambridge ghosts come with the illuminated base. York ghosts being solid cannot achieve he same result. I find the Cambridge ghosts well worth the money, and can highly recommend them.
Very pleased - the quality is fantastic and it casts a lovely hauntingly glow. It truly is a unique 'spirit'.
